At a private ceremony in the presence of the owner last Saturday, the keel of the first Sanlorenzo 72Steel yacht was laid, marking the official recognition of the start of construction of the future flagship of the superyacht fleet.
72Steel will be a completely innovative project compared to the previous one, while maintaining the unique style of Sanlorenzo: an imposing 72 meter long, five-deck, 1850 GT metal yacht, which will be launched in 2025. The second unit of the same line has already been sold.
The new hero of the Sanlorenzo line will be one of the first yachts of the future to feature a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system. This system embodies the best green technologies on the market today and is a concentration of innovations that will significantly reduce emissions to the atmosphere and at sea, while maintaining a high level of comfort on board and optimizing the spaces reserved for the engine area in the benefit of internal volumes for owners and guests.
There are 22 steel and/or aluminum superyachts currently under construction ranging from 44m to 73m. The Superyacht division continues to show strong growth and confirms its leadership in the metal sector with a fleet of 45 vessels at sea.
